Santorini

Santorini is arguably the most popular of the Greek islands. A volcanic eruption in the 16th century drastically changed the landscape of the island, leaving much of the islands perimeter as steep cliffs with jagged edges. It’s become an iconic destination, particularly the village of Oia, that is largely built into the cliffside.

Who it’s For:

Santorini is very popular among couples/honeymooners, particularly in Oia. Because the hotels are built into cliffs, you will find very steep steps which aren’t child friendly. Most places do not allow children under the age of 13. Also, many hotels are designed to enjoy the beautiful views from your room, many with private outdoor space, hot tubs, and plunge pools.

Things to Do:

  • Take a private or shared catamaran cruise

  • Go wine tasting

  • Hike from Oia to Fira (most of the way is downhill so it’s much easier than doing it the opposite!)

Where to Stay:
